Obituaries

Dorothy Mae Reel Rutledge, age 87, of 7105 Beargrass Road in Sherrills Ford, died on Wednesday, November 12, 2014.

Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 14, 2014, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ken Curtis officiating. Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2014, at Warlick Funeral Home.

Mrs. Rutledge was born July 3, 1928, in Lincoln County, to the late John McLean and Georgie Lee Ballard Reel. She worked as a rural letter carrier for the United States Postal Service.

She is survived by her husband, Enloe Rutledge of Sherrills Ford; two daughters, Marilyn Stieneke of Raleigh, and Rev. Amy Vaughan and husband Walter of Sherrills Ford; and four grandchildren, Joshua B. Mauney, Andrew Stieneke, Walter B. Vaughan, and Gideon Vaughan.
