Elizabeth Jane Dellinger Hines
( April 16, 1946 - October 27, 2014 )

Mrs. Jane Dellinger Hines, age 68, of 2631 Keener Road in Lincolnton, died on Monday, October 27, 2014.

 

Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2014, at Salem Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Andy Royals officiating. Pallbearers will be Richie Haynes, Jake Haynes, Shannon Mayo, Mark Dellinger, Scott Childers, Ethan Peterson, Adrian Arrozo, Logan Jackson and Thorne Fox.  Honorary pallbearers will be Caleb Dellinger and Luke Haynes. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Warlick Funeral Home. 

 

Jane was born April 16, 1946 in Lincoln County to the late Samuel and Madge Reep Dellinger. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald Charles “Buck” Hines and two nephews, Dustin Sigmon Dellinger and George Williams.  Jane was retired from Lincoln County Schools where she worked as a teacher assistant.

 

She is survived by a daughter, Deedy Hines Fox of Lincolnton; one grandson, Thorne Fox of Lincolnton; honorary grandson, Luke Haynes, son of Richie and Cindy Haynes of Lincolnton; two brothers, Donald Dellinger of Lincolnton and Darrell Dellinger of Maiden; thirteen nieces and nephews.

 

She loved children, cooking her famous holiday dinners, and traveling, (especially to the beach).  Although she will be greatly missed, family and friends take comfort in knowing that she and Buck are strolling together in Heaven.
