Obituaries

Bessie Pauline Miller Long, age 83, of 5593 King Wilkinson Road, Denver, NC died Wednesday, October 22, 2014.

Her funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Amity Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Kincaid officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Saturday prior to the funeral at Amity Baptist Church.

Mrs. Long was born on February 11, 1931 and was the daughter of the late Charles Cletus and Julia Ethel Hoke Miller.  She was a retired inspector from Timken.

Mrs. Long is survived by three sons, Eddie Long and wife, Rita of Denver, NC, Kevin Long and wife, Leslie of Denver, NC and Stanley Long and wife, Leona of Denver, NC; one sister, Joanne Poovey and husband, Kenneth of Denver, NC: eight grandchildren, Kimberly Long, Kelly Fortune, Josh Long, Chase Long, Shane Long, Joshua Brooker, Nathan Heafner and Carl Buckland; two great-grandchildren, Eli Fortune and Natalie Heafner.
