Obituaries

Mrs. Camilla Galloway Townsend, age 82, of 1890 Rhyneland Road in Lincolnton died on Saturday, September 27, 2014.

Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2014, at First United Methodist Church in Lincolnton with Rev. David Wyant officiating.  A graveside service will take place at 2:00 pm on Friday, October 3, 2014 in Bennettsville, SC.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Warlick Funeral Home.

Mrs. Townsend was born June 25, 1932, in Lydia, SC, to the late Robert Lee and Ester Best Galloway.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John Abner Townsend, two daughters Kimberly Townsend and Sandy Townsend, one son, Johnny Townsend, two grandchildren, Kelley Huitt and Kippen Huitt and one sister, Doris Kelley.  Mrs. Townsend was a registered nurse.  She received her nursing training at McLeod Infirmary School of Nursing in Florence, SC and graduated in 1953. 

She is survived by two daughters, Pati T. Cooper and husband Michael of Crouse and Cari T. Rhodes and husband Jeff of Fletcher, NC; eight grandchildren, Beri Huitt, Braden Huitt, Jay Huitt, Megan Cooper, Evan Rhodes, Ashley Rhodes, Kelly Arnold and Camilla Arnold.
