Staff Sgt. Philip Clyde Collins, age 60, of 1587 Molly Acres Lane in Lincolnton, died on Friday, September 26, 2014

His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 30, 2014, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Tim Walker officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 29, 2014, at Warlick Funeral Home.

Staff Sgt. Collins was born November 17, 1953, in Cambridge, England to the late John Henry and Betty Lynn Goldsby Collins. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, John Paul Collins. He retired from the United States Army and National Guard after 23 years of service. He also worked for the Timken Company where he retired after 32 years of employment.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy Richard Collins of the home; two sons, James Michael Seagle II, of Gastonia and John Philip Collins and wife Jessica of Lincolnton; one daughter, Betty Lynn Collins Mayo and husband Keith of Lincolnton; two brothers, Harold Lance Collins of Texas and James Henry Collins of Louisiana; one sister, Toni Lynne Cunningham of Louisiana, and one granddaughter, Jenna Lee Collins.
