Obituaries

Mr. Claude Ralph Carpenter, age 86, of 317 N. Academy Street in Lincolnton died on Monday, September 22, 2014.

His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 24, 2014, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Wyant and the Rev. Dr. Stanley Spence officiating.  Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Carpenter was born March 9, 1928, in Lincoln County, to the late Claude S. and Minnie Belle Canipe Carpenter.  He was retired from Firestone where he worked as a shift manager.  Mr. Carpenter was a veteran of the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife, Amanda Cagle Carpenter of the home; two grandsons, And M. Lynn and Sarah Harmon of Lincolnton, Pippin Lynn and wife Kristen of Atlanta, GA; three great-grandchildren, Aria Olivie Lynn and Sydney and Elena Lynn.
