Obituaries

Mr. William Daryell Covil, age 81, of 1638 Maple Lane in Lincolnton, died on Thursday, August 28, 2014.

His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2014, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:45 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Covil was born  May 7, 1933, to the late Frank and Donna Bell Hudson Covil. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War and then later worked in textiles.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Withers Covil of the home; one son, William Timothy Covil of the home; two daughters, Cynthia Diane Covil Williams of Eden, NC and Marilyn Kristy Covil of Lincolnton; one sister, Joyce Faye Covil of Winston-Salem; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
