Mrs. Shirley Faye Houk Smith, age 66 of 901 Highway 150 West in Lincolnton died Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

A graveside service will be at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, July 21, 2014 at Gainsville Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Rob Wise officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Monday at Warlick Funeral Home.

Mrs. Smith was born December 7, 1947 in Lincoln County. She was the daughter of the late Forrest Hampton and Mazle Reynolds Houk.  Mrs. Smith was retired from the North Carolina State Department of Community Corrections.

Survivors include two sons, Dennis Smith and wife, Ashley of Shelby, Brent Smith and wife, Kristy of Vale, NC; five grandchildren, Clary Smith of Shelby, Riley McClellan and husband, Philip of Shelby, Gracie Smith of Shelby, Dylan Smith of Vale and Laney Smith of Vale.
