Lois Marie Martin Little
( June 25, 1941 - June 24, 2014 )

Lois Marie Martin Little, age 72, of Carillon Assisted Living, and formerly of 3300 Hoffman Acres Street in Lincolnton, died on Tuesday, June 24, 2014.

Funeral services to celebrate Lois’ life will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2014, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Darrell Bost officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at Warlick Funeral Home.

Mrs. Little was born June 25, 1941, in Danville, Virginia, to the late Guy Clayton and Bertha McGrady Martin. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Buster Lee Little, and a great-grandson, Samuel Talbert.

Lois was well loved by everyone with her cheerful personality and was well liked by all. She was an amazing mother to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren as they were growing up, guiding them with encouragement, support and an enduring love that only grew stronger in their adult life, enjoying precious times together.

Lois was a fun, kind, compassionate and generous person with a bright, winning smile, an engaging sense of humor and a quiet, gentle spirit that drew people to her.  Losing her leaves a big void in our hearts forever.  There is comfort now in knowing she is in her heavenly home with her husband, Buster, in the presence of Jesus, and now has been eternally healed.

She is survived by a dedicated, loving family: Son, Jody Lee Little of Maiden; two daughters, Melinda L. Finger and husband Bo of Lincolnton and Franda L. Ballard and husband Greg of Mooresville; one sister, Loretta Martin of Maiden; three brothers, David Martin of Hardin, NC, Tommy Martin of Manchester, NH, and Buddy Martin of Atlanta, GA; three grandchildren, Jennifer Talbert, Geoffrey Ballard, and Paul Finger, III; and two great-grandchildren, Kortlyn Ballard and Olive Talbert.

The family wishes to give heartfelt thanks for the excellent, loving care Lois received from the kind, professional staff of Carillon Assisted Living and Hospice of Lincoln County.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Lincoln County, 900 Donita Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092, or to the Alzheimers Association, Western Carolina Chapter, P.O. Box 60144, Charlotte, NC 28260-1444.
