Ethel Rebecca Johnson Houser

Ethel Rebecca Johnson Houser, age 89, of Cardinal Care in Lincolnton, died on Sunday, June 15, 2014.

 

Her funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at Reepsville Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Hull officiating. Her body will lie in state thirty minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Warlick Funeral Home.

 

Mrs. Houser was born April 8, 1925, in Cleveland County, to the late Vernon Bane and Lottie Mae Hoyle Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, William Anderson Houser, brothers Loyd Johnson, Calvin Johnson, and Ervin Johnson, and sisters Edna Wilfong, Ruby Morgan, Dessie Shull, and Marie Beaver. She was employed by Carolina Mills before retiring. After retiring, she and her husband owned a produce stand. Mrs. Houser was a loving mother and grandmother who will be missed for her kind, gentle, and caring ways. She also loved to cook and take the grandchildren camping.

 

She is survived by a son, Steve Houser and wife Barbara of Maiden; two daughters, Janice H. Helms and husband W.C., and Rebecca H. Taylor and husband Carl, all of Lincolnton; one brother, Gene Johnson of Statesville; one sister, Ruth Willis of Vale; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
