Carolyn Arrowood Robinson

Carolyn Arrowood Robinson, born December 14, 1937, passed away May 18, 2014.

Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 531 Hardin Road in Dallas. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Carolyn was the daughter of William F. Arrowood and Queen West Arrowood of Bessemer City, NC. She began her 55-year marriage to Dale F. Robinson June 21, 1959. They moved to Florida in 1961.

Carolyn graduated from Dallas High School, Dallas, NC and later Women’s College of University of North Carolina in Greensboro, NC with a degree in Home Economics Education. She taught at Oceanway Jr. High School in Jacksonville until they moved to Orlando in 1964. Carolyn taught Home Economics and Science at Walker Jr. High School and Conway Jr. High School for over 2 decades. She continued her career as a respected educator becoming a program coordinator for the Beginning Teacher Program with Orange County Public Schools until she retired in 1999. Carolyn also served as President of the Florida Staff Development Association.

She is survived by her husband, Dale; daughter, Lyrae (Karl) Williams; and nephew, Joe Fowler.

Carolyn was a much-loved wife, mother, aunt, neighbor, co-worker, and friend to many. She was a sweet lady and touched many lives. After a 14-year struggle with Parkinson’s, she is finally at peace. May memories of her caring warmth, wisdom, and true southern hospitality be a comfort to all who knew her.
