Kenneth Ray Dodgin, Sr.
( February 16, 1940 - June 3, 2014 )

Mr. Kenneth “Ray” Dodgin, Sr., age 74, of 1289 Huckleberry Drive in Lincolnton, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Carolina’s Medical Center in Pineville. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 6, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Lincolnton with Reverend Stanley Spence officiating.  Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Warlick Funeral Home. 

Mr. Dodgin was born on February 16, 1940 to the late Jim Dodgin and Sarah Jenkins Dodgin.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter. 

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Harrison Dodgin of the home; two sons, Kenneth “Kenny” Ray Dodgin, Jr. and wife, Ginger of Lincolnton and Everett Porter and wife Debbie of Illinois; one daughter, Kimberly Elaine Dodgin of Lincolnton; two sisters, Brenda Dodgin Current of Lincolnton; Judy Dodgin Smith and husband George of Lincolnton.   Ray is also survived by four step-sons, Ernie Knight and wife,  Julia of Longs, South Carolina, Roger Knight and wife, Rochelle of Lakeland, Florida, John Knight of Winston Salem, North Carolina and Steve Knight of Mountain City, Tennessee; seventeen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Ray was loved dearly by his family and had many friends.  Before he retired, he was a well known local businessman and owner of Dodgin’s, Inc. in Lincolnton.  He was an avid sportsman who loved golf and especially loved fishing.
