Obituaries

Mrs. Katie Ruth Waddell Chambers Earley, age 88, of the Brian Center in Lincolnton and formerly of Dallas, died on Sunday, May 25, 2014.

Her funeral service will be held 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at High Shoals Church of God with Rev. Billy Dunnigan officiating.  Burial will follow in High Shoals Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 pm on Monday, May 26, 2014 at Warlick Funeral Home. At all other times the family will be at her home located at 1521 Miles Road in Dallas.

Mrs. Earley was born March 28, 1926, in Spartanburg, SC to the late Perry and Lelia Foster Waddell.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Earley, her first husband, Paul Ervin Chambers; four sisters, Lucille Maynor and Charlene Scissom, Noralee Simms and Sybil Burkhalter; two brothers, Paul Waddell and Alvin Waddell.  Mrs. Earley was retired from textiles.

Survivors include three sons, Rod Chambers of Dallas, Jeff Chambers and Tim Chambers of Lincolnton; one daughter, Claudia Lunceford of Charlotte; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
