Aaron James Mosteller
( August 9, 1920 - May 7, 2014 )

Aaron James “Big A” Mosteller, age 93, of Lincolnton, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at the Brian Center.

 

His funeral service will be 3:30 p.m. on Monday, May 12, 2014, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Ingle and Rev. Ken Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in the Salem Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 11, 2014, at Warlick Funeral Home.

 

Born August 9, 1920, in Lincoln county, he was the son of the late James Pressley and Willie Rhyne Mosteller. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by brothers Marion Mosteller and Max Mosteller, a sister, Dorothy Stamey, great-grandson Kevin, and great-great-granddaughter, Ava. He served his country in the Army during WWII and was retired from Durham Life Insurance. 

 

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Margaret Armstrong Mosteller; a daughter, Kay M. Iddings of Conover; two sons, Larry Mosteller (Sharon), Frankie Mosteller (Sharon), both of Lincolnton; six grandchildren, Teresa, Dean, Jamie, Monte, Melissa, and Chad; twelve great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Lincoln County, 900 Donita Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092, or to Salem Baptist Church Building Fund, 1982 Salem Church Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
