Obituaries

Sylvia Evon Black Lloyd, age 72, of 1498 S. Aspen Street in Lincolnton, died on Wednesday, April 23, 2014.

Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2014, at Hardin Community Baptist Church with Rev. Clay Ledford officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Sylvia was born February 12, 1942, in Gaston County to the late Ralph and Louise Garrison Black. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, John Lloyd. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by a son, John “Doug” Lloyd of Lincolnton; a daughter, April Lloyd of Lincolnton; a brother, Gary Black of Jacksonville, FL; two sisters, Paulette Moore of Lawrenceville, GA and Bernice Burgin of Murrells Inlet, SC; and four grandchildren, Grayson Melson and Samantha Melson and Cameron Lloyd and Cambie Lloyd.
