Obituaries

Lloyd David Houser, age 70, of 3304 Anderson Mountain Road in Maiden, died on Saturday, April 5, 2014.

His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kathy McAbee officiating. Burial will follow in the Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery in Catawba. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 7, 2014, at Warlick Funeral Home.

Lloyd was born March 5, 1944, in Rutherford County to the late Leonard Dewitt and Verlie Mae Queen Houser. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Lynn Houser, a son, Dennis Wayne Houser, and sister, Helen Houser. He was the owner of Houser Rollback.

He is survived by his wife, Jo Neal Houser of the home; five brothers, John Houser of Lincolnton, J.D. Houser of Bostic, Henry Houser of Lincolnton, Clinton Houser of Delaware, OK, and Walt Houser of Lincolnton; three sisters, Ethel Propes of Bostic, Grace Lovelace of Lincolnton, and Libby Smith of Bostic; three grandchildren, Jeff Houser, Dana Hillman, and Ricky Hillman, all of Trinity, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
