Obituaries

Mr. Craig Mosteller, age 85, of Lincolnton, died on Saturday, March 15, 2014.

His funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 18, 2014, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Walt Windley and Rev. Scott Jenkins officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30 pm on Monday at Warlick Funeral Home .

Mr. Mosteller was born on March 11, 1929 in Lincoln County to the late John F. and Ella Grigg Mosteller.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Ruby Proctor Mosteller; three brothers, Lewis Mosteller, Wade Mosteller and Lee Mosteller and one sister Ethel Little.  Mr. Mosteller drove a truck for 50 years, driving for Central Candy Company, Dixie Grocery, Thurston Motor Lines and ultimately retiring from Carolina Freight after 30 years of service.  In 1993 he received the North Carolina Truck Driver of the Year and was also awarded the Governors Award for driving 4,000,000 miles in 42 years without a chargeable accident.

He is survived by two sons, Johnny C. Mosteller and wife Judy of Lincolnton, Tony F. Mosteller and wife Tammy of Lincolnton; five grandchildren, Roger Mosteller, Melissa Mosteller, Lauren Gibby, Samuel Mosteller and Matthew Mosteller; two great grandchildren, Wesley and Kelsey Mosteller
