Obituaries

Verna Hazeleen Quinn Heavner, age 84, of 2194 Shoal Road in Lincolnton, died on Saturday, March 14, 2014.

Her funeral service will be 4:00 pm on Monday, March 17, 2014, at Bethphage Lutheran Church with Pastor Fred Mitschke officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Sunday, March 16, 2014, at Warlick Funeral Home.

Mrs. Heavner was born November 1, 1929, in Lincoln County to the late John H. and Mary Uren Quinn. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Yates Heavner. She retired from Harris-Teeter where she worked as a cashier.

She is survived by a son, Scott Heavner of Lincolnton; a daughter, Danya Lowe of Crouse; three grandchildren, Scotty Heavner, Chadd Lowe, and Kasey Jackson; and four great-grandchildren, Mallory Jackson, Maggy Heavner, Ty Heavner, and Aaron Heavner.
