Dale Wayne “Critter” Costner, age 59, of 131 Antioch Church Road in Crouse, died on Thursday, March 6, 2014.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 10, 2014, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Walt Windley officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Costner was born November 25, 1954, in Gaston County to the late Grier Wayne Costner, Sr. and Inez Elizabeth Fowler Costner. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Carr. He worked in construction, loved his critters, and loved collecting things. He always said, “The main thing is to maintain.”

He is survived by a son, Dale Wayne Costner II, and wife Kimberly of Jacksonville, FL; three sisters, Ewayne Blankenship and husband Dennis of Charlotte, Elaine Wilson of Gastonia, and Eraine Hibberts of Parksville, SC; four brothers, Allen Wayne Costner and wife Brenda of Dallas, Grier Wayne Costner of Crouse, Randy Wayne Costner and wife Mary of Gastonia, and John Wayne Costner and wife Gail of Dallas; two grandchildren, Trae Dale Costner and Chloe Rayne Costner; and their grandmother, the love of his life, Ginny Arnette.
