Obituaries

Judy Annette Tate Owens, age 47, of 2174 River Road in Lincolnton, died on Friday, February 21, 2014.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Sanders officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:30 until 4:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Ms. Owens was born April 30, 1966, in Lincoln County to Geraldine Toney Tate and the late Harold Leon Tate. In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Sherrie Tate Scronce.  She worked at Ethan Allen in the finishing room.

She is survived by a son, Daniel W. Owens of Lincolnton; mother, Geraldine Tate of Lincolnton; brother, Randy Tate and wife Carol of Gastonia; sister, Patsy Smith and husband Ronald of Lincolnton; nieces and nephews, Jennifer McDonald and husband Bryan, Shannon Bradley and husband Michael, Ashley Adams, Brian Adams, Steven and Jamie Miller; six great-nieces and nephews; and Daniel’s godparents, Paula and Matthew Chavis.
