Dortha Marcella Rudisill
( September 30, 1924 - February 7, 2014 )

Dortha Marcella Weaver Rudisill “Teeny” age 89, of  McBee Street in Lincolnton died Friday, February 7, 2014.

 

Her service will be held at 3:00p.m. Monday February 10, 2014 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel. 

 

Mrs. Rudisill was born September 30, 1924 in Lincoln County. She was the daughter of the late Austin Weaver and Prue Cornwell Weaver. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Rudisill, Jr.; brothers, Freddie Weaver and Jack Weaver. Mrs. Rudisill was retired from Carolina Freight and Leslie Fay where she worked as a secretary and bookkeeper. Teeny as she was known by friends and family, was active in The American Legion Auxiliary and served as a Girl Scout leader and was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church.

 

Survivors include; son, John C. Rudisill III and wife Cindy of Maiden, daughter, Gwen R. Carpenter and husband Mike of Lincolnton, granddaughters, Addison Rudisill-Hoffman of Lincolnton, Christian Rudisill of Asheville and Miriah Rudisill of Lincolnton ;grandsons, Alan Wentz and wife Katya of Nashville TN, Langston Hoffman of Lincolnton, John Carpenter of Huntersville and Darcy Johnson and husband Mark of Hickory; great grandchildren, Caroline W. George and husband Alex George and Gavin Wentz; great great grandchildren, Carson Campbell and Violet George; sister-in-law, Nancy McMillian Weaver.

 

The family sends special thanks to her loving and caring caregivers, Aunt Tammy Hoffman and Vicky Williams.
