Obituaries

Mr. Donald Greene, age 84, of Lincolnton, passed away Friday, November 29, 2013, at Robin Johnson Hospice House. He was born in Gaston County to the late Noah Greene and Bertha Fletcher Greene. He was also preceded in death by sisters Hilda, Genell, and Barbara Ann, and brothers Austin, Kenneth, Jerry, Harry, and J.R..

Surviving is his wife, Mary Lou Mauney Greene; one son, Jeffery; and granddaughters, Coley and Millie of Weddington; special neices and their husbands, Judy and John Cannon, Shelia and Tony Sherrill, all of Gastonia, and Tiny and Kenneth Crisp of Great Falls S.C., also his dog Little Susie.

He was a machinist and retired from A.B. Carter, Inc., of Gastonia, NC. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he enjoyed being a part of the Good Friends Class, the Topagers group, and singing in the Senior Adult Choir.

A memorial service is being held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at First Baptist Church in Lincolnton.  The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 12:45pm until 1:45pm. Burial will be private.
