Wallace Lee Keener, age 82, of Lincolnton, died on Tuesday, November 12, 2013.
His funeral service will be 12:00 pm on Thursday, November 14, 2013, at Boger City Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Bigham and Rev. Robert Redding officiating. Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:45 am prior to the service at the church.
Wally was born April 10, 1931 in Lincoln County to the late Pervy Pinkney and Ollie Mae Williams Keener. He served in the Army National Guard for 42 years and then later retired from law enforcement. He volunteered in many emergency services throughout Lincoln County and was a member of Boger City Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Wentz Keener of the home; two sons, Jeffrey Pinkney Keener of Crossville, TN and Wallace Andrew Keener of Maiden; two grandchildren, Jessica Keener and Lauren Ashlee Keener; and one great-grandchild.
