Emma Ethel Foster Waldrop
( October 10, 1919 - October 30, 2013 )

Emma Ethel Foster Waldrop, age 94, of Kindred Nursing and Rehab, and formerly of N. Flint Street in Lincolnton, died on Wednesday, October 30, 2013.


Her funeral service will be 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 2, 2013, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Rhodes officiating.  Burial will follow in the Hulls Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30 pm on Friday, November 1, 2013, at Warlick Funeral Home.

 

Mrs. Waldrop was born October 10, 1919 in Gaston County to the late Clarence and Della Caroline Hullender Foster.  In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Jessie W. Waldrop, one sister Bessie Reynolds, one great-granddaughter, Chasity Spivey and one great-great-granddaughter, Taylor Peyton.  She worked at Cochrane’s Furniture and later at Wendy’s in Lincolnton.  Emma was a member of River View Baptist Church and was also very active in the foster children program. 

 

She is survived by one daughter, Bobbie Spivey and husband Charles of Lincolnton; a son, Kenny Waldrop and wife Belinda of Davis Station, SC;  two sisters, Hazel Suttle of Georgia and Edna Carpenter of Lincolnton; six grandchildren, Barry Spivey and wife Denise, Tina Tindall, Caroline Spivey Hollar, Christy Lindsey and husband Daniel, Becky Waldrop, and Samantha Parimuha and husband J.R.; nine great-grandchildren, William (Will) Lane, Brad Lane and wife Lisa, Amy Kiser and husband Jason, Charity Spivey, Justin Beard, Wesley Beard, K.C. Lindsey, Reed Parimuha, and Adyson Parimuha; five great-great-grandchildren, Corey Carden, Johnny Carden, J.P. Peyton, Haleigh Beard, and Chloe Beard; and her other special children, Cathy, Joanne, Maryann, Jamie, Margaret and Sue.
