Obituaries

Howard Earl Smith, age 73, of Flay Road in Lincolnton, passed away on Monday, September 2, 2013.

Mr. Smith was born June 19, 1940 in Cherokee County, SC to the late Thomas Andrew and Bertha Huffman Smith.  He worked as a carpenter. 

He is survived by his wife, Lois McMahan Smith of the home; one son, Nathan Scott Smith and wife Debbie Dellinger Smith of Cherryville; one daughter, Sandy Smith Ledford and husband Larry of Vale; three brothers, James Smith of Vale, Oscar Smith of Granite Falls, and William Smith of Clarksville, TN; one sister, RaeEllen Trollinger of Hunt, TX; four grandchildren, Hannah Leigh Smith, Kesha Ledford Black, Augusta Ann Hamby, and Joshua Kenneth Ledford; and three great-grandchildren, Tristian Ray Smith, Payton Aubrey Hamby, and Ruby Mae Black.

The family will receive friends Thursday, September 5, 2013 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Warlick Funeral Home. Service will be private.

Memorials may be made to Lincoln Chapter #114 of the Order of the Eastern Star.
