Obituaries

Evelyn Cloer Anthony, age 85, of Lincolnton, died on Thursday, August 29, 2013.

Her funeral service will be 3:00 pm on Sunday, September 1, 2013 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jon Mann officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:45 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Anthony was born July 20, 1928 in Burke County to the late Thomas Swain and Alma Isabelle Shrum Cloer.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold “Tooney” Anthony, two sisters, Jean McGinnis and Carolyn Boston, and one brother, Everette Cloer.  She worked as a furniture inspector for Burris Industries. 

She is survived by a son, Ronnie Anthony and wife Pam of Cherryville; one brother, Don Cloer and wife Phyllis of Florida; one sister, Barbara Proctor and husband Dewitt of Conover; and two grandchildren, Heidi Anthony- Cash and Wesley Anthony.
