Graham McAllister Caskey
( October 30, 1926 - August 25, 2013 )

Graham McAllister Caskey, age 86, of Iron Station, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2013.

 

The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Warlick Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be private.  The family will host a reception at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at 405 N. Poplar Street in Mr. Caskey’s honor. 

 

Mr. Caskey was born in Gaston County on October 30, 1926, son of the late Charles Clay and Ida McAllister Caskey.  He worked for Lincoln County as maintenance supervisor before retiring.  Mr. Caskey also served his country in the United States Navy as a Sea Bee during World War II.  He was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Caskey, four brothers, Clay, Sam, Dickie, and Johnny Caskey, and two sisters, Charles Alexander and Martha Bennis. 

 

He is survived by his wife, Frances Rhyne Caskey; one son, Robin Caskey and wife Pam of Lincolnton; four daughters, Carol Conner of Lincolnton, Ellen Lingerfelt and husband Wally of Iron Station, Pam Huskey and husband Tommy of Lincolnton, and Jan Caskey of Iron Station; two brothers, David Caskey and Andy Caskey, both of Iron Station; three sisters, Mary Peeler of Denver, and Peggy Bartholomew and Pat Bradshaw, both of Iron Station; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Huskey, Lyndsey Conner, Chris Huskey, Kelsey Lingerfelt, Kane Lingerfelt, Kandace Caskey, and Kendall Caskey; and one great-grandson, Caleb Beard.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ironton Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 129, Iron Station, NC  28080, or to the Lincoln County Democratic Party, P.O. Box 1661, Lincolnton, NC  28093.

 

The family would like to thank the staff of Brian Center in Lincolnton for the wonderful care given to Mr. Caskey.
