Obituaries

Clay England, age 80, of 2261 Maiden-Salem Road in Maiden, died on Friday, July 26, 2013.

His funeral service will be 2:00 pm on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at Marvin United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Tate officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 pm on Sunday in the fellowship hall.

Mr. England was born July 6, 1933 in Yancey County to the late Herbert and Mamie Higgins England. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Lois Wilcox England, and three brothers, Armin England, Howard England and Perry England.

He is survived by two sons, Wayne England and wife Lynda of Clover, SC and Barry England and wife Ellen of Charlotte; one sister, Mildred Anders of Mars Hill, NC; three grandchildren, Michael England, Jennifer Anderson, and Jill Lingerfelt; and three great-grandchildren, Will Lingerfelt, Riley Anderson, and Chloe Lingerfelt.
