Obituaries

Helen Colene Hurt Farmer, age 86, of Lincolnton, died on Tuesday, July 16, 2013.

Her funeral service will be conducted at 11 A.M. Thursday, July 18, 2013 at Gainsville Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Michael White officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Farmer was born May 23, 1927 in Lincoln County to the late Millard and Dollie Stafford Hurt. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Fred Farmer, and seven brothers and sisters.

She is survived by son; Douglas Jones and fiancé Ann McRoy of Lincolnton, daughter; Rhonda Jones Featherstone and husband David of Lincolnton, sister; Yvonne Hurt of Lincolnton, 6 grandchildren, Chris and wife Sarah Vance, Megan and husband Rocky Christian, Matthew and wife Adrianne Featherstone, Mitchell and wife Courtney Jones, Micah and wife Beatriz Featherstone, and Steven Jones, and 12 great grandchildren.
