Herbert Henning Bryant, Sr.
( November 25, 1928 - June 13, 2013 )

Mr. Herbert Henning Bryant, Sr., age 84 of Lincolnton, went to be with the Lord on June 13, 2013.

 

Funeral services will be held 2:30pm Saturday June 15, 2103 at Southside Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Doug McClain officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00pm until 2:15pm at the church prior to the service.

 

Mr. Bryant was a native of Horry County, S.C.. He was the son of the late Charlie and Nellie Mae Cribb Bryant. Mr. Bryant was a regional sales manager for NTS, PHH of Fort Worth, TX., and TCH. He received the Don Scott Award for Sales Excellence from PHH. Herb was a popular speaker, noted for his humor. He liked telling stories of his childhood antics. Herb also served as a volunteer with Lincoln County Hospice, as well as serving his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Army.

 

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Polly Boggs Bryant of the home; one daughter, Lyn B. Owen of Lincolnton; one son, Herbert Bryant, Jr. of Lincolnton; daughters, Yvonne Modlin and husband Nathan of Lincolnton, Holly Steele and husband Fred of Vale, Millie Propst and husband Perry of Lincolnton; grandchildren Rob Owen and wife LeAna, Hannah Hill and husband Jim, Matt Modlin and wife Julie, Patrick Modlin and wife Allyson, all of Lincolnton, Eric Steele and wife Sarah of Charleston S.C., Keane Steele of Charleston, S.C., Chase Caldwell and Kayda Caldwell, both of Lincolnton, Ryan Propst and wife Kelli of Vale, Eric Bryant, Scott Bryant, Jeremiah Bryant, and Spenser Bryant; eleven great grandchildren; one brother, Frank Bryant and wife Della of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; one sister, Rosa Bryant Walters of Camden S.C..

 

The family would like to give special thanks to the Brian Center Staff, with special thanks to Elizabeth, Christa and Nicki.
