Obituaries

Mr. Jack David “J. D.” Heavner age 77 of Newton, N.C. went to be with the Lord Monday June 10^th, 2013, departing with his family by his side.

J.D. was a native of Catawba County born on May 2, 1936 son of the late Henry Lee and Eather Smith Heavner.  Mr. Heavner was a life time member of Grace Lutheran Church and was employed as a truck driver for 46 years and retired from Bob’s Pallets, Lincolnton. J.D. was preceded in death by son David Heavner and brothers Gene, Paul, Ralph, and Roy Lee Heavner.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife Lorene Keever Heavner, daughter Brenda McConnell and husband Steve, son Kenneth Heavner, and grandson Joshua McConnell and wife Jennifer. He is also survived by his brother Herman Heavner and wife Joanne and sister Violet Hatchett, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 12^th from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Grace Lutheran Church, Newton, N.C.

Funeral services will be held at Grace Lutheran Church at 3: 00 pm on Thursday June 13^th with graveside service immediately following.
