Obituaries

Catherine Tessner Taylor, age 71, of 1734 Boy Scout Road in Lincolnton, died on Tuesday, May 14, 2013.

Her funeral service will be 11:00 am on Friday, May 17, 2013 at Highland Drive Freewill Baptist Church.  The body will lie in state for thirty minutes prior to the service.  Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Warlick Funeral Home. 

Mrs. Taylor was born April 30, 1942 in Lincoln County to the late Julius and Eva Spencer Tessner.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Rabon “Raz” Taylor, a brother, J.T. Tessner, two sisters, Nettie Jarrell and Lottie Milburn, and a stillborn grandson, Gabriel Michael Taylor.  Mrs. Taylor was a homemaker. 

She is survived by two sons, Mark Taylor and wife Faith and Shannon Taylor and wife Alison, all of Lincolnton; one daughter, Sharon Black and husband Gene of Rock Hill, SC; two sisters, Bertha Leatherman and Rosie Spencer, both of Lincolnton; and six grandchildren, Rev. Joshua Taylor and wife Mandy of Anderson, SC, Anna Schill and husband Vince of Athens, GA, William Black, Rachel Black, David Black of Rock Hill, SC, and Ethan Taylor of Lincolnton.
