Mr. Harold “Dean” Crawley, age 65 of 2692 Gastonia Highway in Lincolnton, NC died Saturday, April 6, 2013 at his home.
His funeral service will be held 4:00 pm on Monday, April 8, 2013 at Pisgah United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Judy Eurey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:45 until 3:45 pm on Monday prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Crawley was born January 25, 1948 in Cleveland County to the late Horace and Annie May Rudisill Crawley. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Walter Crawley and four sisters, Betty Buff, Sue Hoyle, Essie Davis and Ann Wade. Mr. Crawley was a retired member of the South Fork Volunteer Fire Department, past Cub Master of Cub Scout Pack #75 and a long time member of Pisgah United Methodist Church where he served in various capacities. He was a machinist and a welder with T& S Welding for almost 40 years.
Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Claudette Thornburg Crawley of the home; one son, Chad Crawley and wife Amy of Lincolnton; one sister, Vivian Stroupe and husband Dennis of Lincolnton; one brother, Leon Crawley of Maiden; brothers-and sisters-in law, Calvin and Cathy Thornburg of Lincolnton and David and Jill Putnam of Shelby; one grandson, Conner Crawley; numerous nieces and nephews.
