Obituaries

Nancy Whitesides Beal, 76, of Lincolnton, NC, won her battle with Alzheimer’s, on March 14, 2013, when she passed peacefully from this world as her children sang some of her favorite gospel music. 

The family will celebrate her life by receiving friends and family at Antioch Baptist Church from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2013.  Following visitation, her home-going celebration will be officiated by Rev. Todd Garren and Rev. Ernie Richards, with the burial following at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

She spent her working career at Trendline Furniture and Freightliner.  After retirement, she dedicated fifteen years of service to Christian Ministries’ Meals on Wheels as a driver and team coordinator. As a member of Antioch Baptist Church, she supported the church with her service as a Sunday School teacher, served on many committees and blessed the services with her beautiful alto voice.  

She was a wonderful wife to her loving husband of 60 years, Milas L. Beal, who survives her; as well as a supportive and loving mother to her children, Rhonda Little and husband, Don, of Huntersville, NC; Tracy Beal and wife, Cressey, of Lincolnton, NC; Stacy Lane and husband, Al, of Iron Station, NC.  She was blessed with six grandchildren, Trent Little, Lauren Little, Aleah Wolfe, Brian Lane, Caleb Beal and Matthew Lenox as well as three great grandchildren (Gracyn, Rylen and Avery). 

She was preceded in death by her father, Alexander Brevard Whitesides, her mother, Ola Norwood Whitesides Crouse, her four brothers and three sisters.
