Obituaries

Mr. Jody Dean Jones, age 55 of 3200 Jones Valley Trail in Iron Station, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2013.

His funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 15, 2013 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Alex Clark officiating.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Warlick Funeral Home. 

Mr. Jones was born November 9, 1957 in Mecklenburg County to Evelyn Wright Jones and the late Harvey Clifford Jones.  He worked as a truck driver and was a loving father and grandfather. 

He is survived by a special friend, Sylvia Gates; a son, Justin Dellinger of High Shoals; three daughters, Stacy Armstrong of Lincolnton, Annie DiBernardo of Vale, and Tonya Heavner of Hickory; his mother, Evelyn Jones of Stanley; a sister, Sandra Scott of Iron Station; two brothers, Jeffrey Scott Jones and Harvey Clay Jones, both of Iron Station; ten grandchildren, Gavin Lanier, Hanna Dellinger, Caleb Heavner, Katie Dellinger, Bailey Lanier, Payton Armstrong, Cheyenne DiBernardo; Maison Armstrong, and Anna Grace DiBernardo; one great-granddaughter, Zali Dawn Dellinger; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
