Obituaries

Mr. John Laban Burgin, Sr., 72, of North Grove Street in Lincolnton, died on Friday, March 8, 2013.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Hollybrook Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Stanley Spence officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:30 pm on Sunday at the funeral home.

Mr. Burgin was born December 4, 1940 in Lincoln County to the late Thomas Jacob Burgin, Sr. and Mildred Mitchum Burgin.  Mr. Burgin was self-employed. 

He is survived by his wife, Kay Craig Burgin; two sons, Todd Burgin and wife Candy of Lincolnton, and John Burgin, Jr. of Waxhaw; grandson Kyle Burgin; one sister, Joannah Harbinson of Maiden; brothers Tom Burgin, Rodney Burgin, and David Burgin all of Lincolnton, and Bill Dameron of Taylorsville; and a number of nieces and nephews.
