Gerald Wayne Dyke, Sr.
( November 11, 1942 - January 13, 2013 )

Mr. Gerald Wayne Dyke, Sr.,age 70 of 614 Hoffman Road in Lincolnton went to be with his heavenly Father on Sunday, January 13, 2013. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. All who knew him loved him dearly and will miss him.

 

Funeral services will be held Wednesday January 16, 2013 at 11:00 am in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Ingle officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Lincolnton.  The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:45 am on Wednesday prior to the service at Warlick Funeral Home.

 

Mr. Dyke was born November 11, 1942 in Gaffney, SC to Lucy Crawford Dyke and the late Fred Eugene Dyke.  He was retired from Harris Teeter.  Mr. Dyke was a member of the First Baptist Church of High Shoals.  He and his wife Peggy have many beautiful memories that were made during their 40 years of marriage.

 

Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Peggy Chaney Dyke; three sons, Gerald Wayne Dyke, Jr., of Gaffney, SC, Jerry William Reel and wife Debbie Martin Reel and Michael Andy Reel, all of High Shoals and one daughter, Debbie Reel Avery and husband Donald Wayne Avery of Lincolnton; mother, Lucy C. Dyke of Gaffney, SC; three brothers, Bobby E. Dyke and wife Norma, Billy E. Dyke, all of Gaffney, SC, Charles E. Dyke of Atlanta, GA; two sisters, Brenda D. Wright and husband Ronnie of Gaffney, SC, Betty D. Smith of Palatka, FL; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and his faithful and loving K-9 companion, Padie, who loved him dearly. 

 

Daddy Gerald, we love you and miss you each and every day.  You are always present in all that we do.  You have touched our hearts and souls forever.
