Obituaries

Dr. Robert Belois Wensil, age 65, of 4641 E. Highway 27, Iron Station was called home Saturday, December 22, 2012 after a hard fought battle with leukemia.

His funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Pearl Baptist Church with Rev. Malcolm Ivey, Rev. Bob Wise and Rev. Dale Pederson officiating.  His body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Pearl Baptist Church.

Dr. Wensil was born on January 30, 1947 in Rowan County to the late Amos and Neavonne Carter Wensil.  He served as the pastor of Pearl Baptist Church in Iron Station for 29 years.

Dr. Wensil is survived by his wife, Martha Yow Wensil of the home; two sons, Robert Brian Wensil of Lincolnton and Randall Blake Wensil and wife, Merodie Caldwell Wensil of Iron Station; one brother, Allen Wensil of Mocksville, NC; one sister, Renee Ball of Rockwell, NC; four grandchildren, Riley Wensil, Raemy Wensil, Ryker Wensil and Renly Wensil.
