Obituaries

Wade Monroe Hubbard, Sr., age 73, of 6004 King Wilkinson Road in Denver, died on Thursday, November 22, 2012.

His funeral service will be 12:00 noon on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at New Grace Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Taylor and Rev. Barry Goodman officiating.   Burial will follow in the church cemetery.   The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 pm on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Warlick Funeral Home.

Mr. Hubbard was born July 20, 1939 in Mecklenburg County to the late John Frank and Catherine Janie Fisher Hubbard.  He served in the United States Air Force and then later worked as a truck driver for over thirty years.  Mr. Hubbard enjoyed preaching and farming.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille Babb Hubbard of the home; three sons, Douglas T. Hubbard and wife Sherri of Blacksburg, SC, Phillip N. Hubbard and wife Lisa of Denver, NC, and Wade M. Hubbard, Jr. and wife Christal of Ohio; a daughter, Kimberly Sue Pressley of Bessemer City, NC; four brothers, Parks Hubbard, Kenneth Hubbard, Harold Hubbard, and Gene Hubbard; five sisters, Edith Williams, Nancy Long, Rachel Knox, Dorothy Thompson, and Faye Cain;  nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
