Obituaries

Mr. James Avery Hedgpeth, age 68, of 154 Rash Road in Lincolnton, died on Thursday, October 11, 2012. 

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Anthony Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Faulkenbury and Rev. Dennis Bean officiating.   The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 pm prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Hedgpeth was born January 23, 1944 in Lincoln County to the late Burlin A. and Pearlie Mae Carpenter Hedgpeth. He was a well driller.  

He is survived by his wife, Mary Haynes Hedgpeth of the home; three sons, James P. Hedgpeth of Cherryville, John R. Hedgpeth of Lincolnton, and Lee Hedgpeth of Bessemer City; three daughters, Patricia Prather of Cherryville, Brenda Boston of Crouse, and Crystal Yarbrough of Lawndale; one brother, Ronnie Hedgpeth of Lincolnton; one sister, Delthia Tilley of Cherryville; ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
