Obituaries

Mr. Scottie Douglas Laws, age 46, of 1005 W. Carroll Street in Cherryville, died on Tuesday, August 28, 2012.

His funeral service will be 3:00 pm on Friday, August 31, 2012 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. David Jones officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:45 pm on Friday prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Laws was born May 31, 1966 in Wilkes County, NC to Doug Laws and the late Peggy Butler Laws.  

He is survived by his father, Doug Laws and wife Norma of Wilkesboro; sister, Wendy Hallman and husband Blake of Cherryville; special friend, Kristi Ferguson of Cherryville; one step-brother, Jeff Faw and wife Angel of Wilkesboro; two step-sisters, April Marr and husband Jessie and Beckie Spears and husband Will, all of Wilkesboro; and several nieces and nephews.
