Obituaries

Mr. Ralph Dalton Cline Sr., age 78 of Labans Lane, Lincolnton, passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2012 at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Lincolnton with Rev. Dr. Stanley Spence and Rev. Ken Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Gaston Memorial Park in Gastonia, N.C. The family will receive friends on Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Lincolnton from 10:00 am until 10:45 am prior to the service.

Mr. Cline was born on September 28, 1933 son of the late Ray and Nellie Uren          Cline. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for thirty-five years before retiring. He was preceded in death by his first wife Odies Faulkner Cline, stepmother Elizabeth Huffstickler Cline, and one brother Ray Carroll Cline. Mr. Cline also served his country during the Korean War in the Navy.

Survivors include his wife Franna White Cline of the home; three sons Ralph D. ”Butch” Cline and wife Sandy of Gastonia, Samuel Lee Cline and wife Randi of Kings Mountain, and David Mason Cline and wife Michelle of Harrisburg; one stepson, Travis Deaton and wife Susan of LaPorte City, Iowa; one stepdaughter, Stephanie Deaton of Lincolnton; one brother, Larry Cline and wife Katherine of Griffin Ga.; three sisters, Joyce Howell and husband Ray, Dixie Blanton, and Peggy Wells,  all of Kings Mountain; one sister-in-law, Doris Cline of Flagstaff, AZ.; ten grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
