Samuel Franklin Angel, SMSgt (Ret), 76, of Dallas, NC, died Thursday, August 16, 2012.

Mr. Angel was born November 20, 1935 in Gaston County. He was the son of the late Samuel Elbert Angel and Martha Fisher Johnston. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jane Clemmer. Mr. Angel retired after 22 years of honorable service in the US Air Force. He later worked at A. B. Carter, Inc. as a manufacturing engineer.

His funeral service will be at 1:00 pm Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Puett Chapel United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 12:30 pm Saturday at the Puett Church Family Life Center prior to the service.

Survivors include his wife, Janet Brooks Angel of the home; son, Colonel Joseph F. Angel and wife Gwendolyn of Warner Robins, GA; daughter, Lynn Angel and husband Cliff Boling of Dallas; brothers, James G. Angel and wife Carolyn of Dallas and Scott Angel and wife Emily of Arkansas; grandchildren, Dusty Bingham and husband Tim, Zachary Angel and Tristyn Angel; great grandchildren, Dalton Morrow and Macilah Bingham.
