Obituaries

Elise “Fidget” Foster Mauney, age 92, of 8109 Jamison Place Court in Charlotte, formally of 925 East Park Drive in Lincolnton, died on Tuesday, June 5, 2012.

A graveside will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, June 7, 2012 in the Blowing Rock Cemetery with entombment to follow. 

Mrs. Mauney was born February 12, 1920 in Watauga County to the late James M. and Mary Greene Foster.   In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, J. Howard Mauney, Jr.  She was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Marcia Elise Mauney Harkey and husband Ted of Midland and Nancy Lee Mauney Diebold and husband John of Charlotte; one sister, Janice Muriel Foster of Blowing Rock; two grandchildren, Angie Capri Harkey Hastings   and Christine Renee’ Murphy McKinney; and five great-grandchildren, Brittany Elise McKinney, Matthew Alan Hastings, Kassie Capri Hastings, Stephanie Marie McKinney, and Michael David Hastings.  Others survivors include nieces Tonya Poplin, Kara Metts, Isabella Metts, Betty Baker and husband Bill and Sue Moore and husband Floyd.
