Clarence James Lowe, Sr.
( August 21,1923 - May 17, 2012 )

Mr. Clarence James Lowe, Sr., age 88, of 6303 Startown Road in Maiden, died on Thursday, May 17, 2012.


His funeral service will be 11:00 am on Monday, May 21, 2012 at Crowell Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Porter officiating. The body will lie in state for thirty minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Warlick Funeral Home. 

 

Mr. Lowe was born August 21, 1923 in Wilkes County to the late Mack Coleman and Anne Jones Lowe.  Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Georgie Lee Reep Lowe, and two brothers, M.C. Lowe and Charlie Lowe. He was a dairy farmer.  In addition, Mr. Lowe served in the United States Army and Air Force during World War II. 

 

He is survived by one son, Clarence James “Jim” Lowe, Jr. and wife Karen of Charlotte; three daughters, Nancy Johnson and husband Ray “Peanut” of Lincolnton, Carolyn “Cookie” Lowe of the home, and Kathy Lawing and husband Mike of Maiden; two brothers, Holly Lowe and Butch Lowe, both of West Palm Beach, FL; four sisters, Edith Garrison of West Palm Beach, FL, Effie Tyre of Holiday, FL, Goldie Bryant of West Palm Beach, FL, and Joann Carpenter of Cherryville; five grandchildren, Wendy Johnson, Angie McCorkle and husband Richard, Brian Lawing and wife Krystal, Tesha Davis and husband Steve, and Chris Conner; and four great-grandchildren, Conner Davis, Edie Pate, Cameron Isaacs, and Sophie Lawing.
