Hubert Bain Mauney
( February 8, 1934 - April 13, 2012 )

Mr. Hubert “Polie” Bain Mauney, age 78, went to be with our Lord on Friday, April 13, 2012.

 

A Celebration of Life Service will be at 2:00 pm on Sunday, April 15, 2012 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Dallas with Reverend Dr. John Merck, Reverend Ted Goins and Chaplain Lieutenant  Colonel Michael S. Rash officiating.  The family will receive friends immediately following the burial in the church sanctuary. 

 

Born in Lincoln County on February 8, 1934, he was the son of Prince Lee and Maude Huffstetler Mauney. 

 

He was a faithful member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, serving on “God’s Grounds Crew”, the Joy Group and Disciples Sunday School Class.  He served in the United States Army in the Korean Conflict where he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and United Nations Service Medal.  He loved life and was passionate about the outdoors as he was an avid hunter and sportsman.  He was retired from Rhyne Mills, Inc.

 

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Gloria Hovis Mauney, daughter Susan M. Hutcherson and husband Alan; daughter Amanda C. Mauney; brother L.D. Mauney and wife Ruth; sister Mary Lou Rash and husband Don; sisters-in-law, Sue H. Heafner and Mary Frances Hovis; and numerous nieces and nephews who adored their “Uncle Polie.” 

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert L. Mauney; and sisters, Alma Q. Mauney and Nancy C. Mauney.
