Obituaries

Mr. Samuel Richard Elliott, age 79, of 2920 Woodfield Lane in Lincolnton, died on Monday, March 19, 2012.

A memorial service will be 3:00 pm on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 2151 Mt. Zion Church Road in Alexis, with Rev. Charles Wilborn officiating.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 2:45 pm prior to the service at the church. 

Mr. Elliott was born March 4, 1933 in Walhalla, SC to the late John Samuel Guy Elliott and Thode Abbott Elliott.  He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and then worked as a flight line mechanic for Lockheed Martin for 36 years.  

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Jacobs Elliott of the home; a son, John Norman Elliott of Algonquin, IL; two daughters, Deborah Elliott Ouzts of Edgefield, SC and Lisa Elliott Grose of Greenwood, SC; one sister, Martha Elliott Litesey of Cedartown, GA; and five grandchildren.
