Richard Arthur Keenan
( November 8, 1925 - March 12, 2012 )

Mr. Richard Arthur Keenan, age 86, of 7499 Barfield Lane in Denver, died on Monday, March 12, 2012.


His funeral service will be 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Webbs Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. John Love officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military graveside rites.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Friday, March 16, 2012 at Warlick Funeral Home. 

 

Mr. Keenan was born November 8, 1925 in Wolfeboro, NH to the late Arthur Chester and Frances Chick Keenan.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Scott Calkins Keenan.  He worked as a sales manager for portable and industrial air compressors.  Mr. Keenan was a veteran of World War II having served in the United States Army Air Corps as a ball turret gunner on a B24 stationed in Italy.  Mr. Keenan received a Purple Heart, an Air Medal with three Oak Leaf clusters, and the European African Middle Eastern Ribbon with four bronze stars.   

 

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marilyn Calkins Keenan of the home; two daughters, Kathy Lynn Bosiak and husband Stephen of Denver, and Wendy Keenan Edwards and husband Berry of Denver; seven grandchildren, LTJG Nathaniel A. Bosiak, Captain Nicholas S. Bosiak, Stephanie Edwards Wicks, Russell Patrick Edwards, Megan Elizabeth Keenan, Emily Christine Keenan, and Daniel Scott Keenan; and one great-grandchild, Luke Skylar Keenan.
