Thelma Causey Lowrimore
( November 20, 1930 - February 24, 2012 )

Mrs. Thelma Causey Lowrimore passed away peacefully Friday, February 24 at The Brian Center, Lincolnton, NC.

 

Her funeral service will be 4:00 pm on Sunday, February 26, 2012 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain William Robertson and Mr. Tom Henley officiating.  Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:30 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. 

 

Mrs. Lowrimore was a passionate advocate for the disabled population in Lincoln County.  She was co-founder and president of the Lincoln County chapter of ARC.  Her other work for the developmentally disabled includes helping start a daycare at First Presbyterian Church in Lincolnton and a Sunday School class and Explorer Post at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Lincolnton.  She also was administrator of Lincoln County Group Home.  

 

She was the daughter of the late W.A. and Lela Causey.  She was preceded in death by her husbands, David Roy Seymour and Augustus (Gus) Lowrimore, son David Roy Seymour, Jr., and brothers, W.J. Causey and Archie J. Causey.

 

She is survived by her daughter, Gladys Seymour Hollis of Lincolnton, NC; son Archie Livingston Lowrimore of Morganton, NC; granddaughter Natalie Hollis of Cornelius, NC, and granddaughter and grandson-in-law Amanda and Ross Sinodis of Apex, NC; her sister, Joyce Gilbert of Lincolnton, and numerous nieces and nephews. 

 

Memorials can be made to the Enola Group, 300 Enola Road, Morganton, NC  28652.  Please include “Evergreen Cottage” on the memo line.
