Obituaries

Mr. Hugh Gene White, age 68 of 5792 Bill Ledford Road in Vale, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 18, 2012.

His funeral service will be 3:30 pm on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Reepsville Baptist Church with Pastor Harold King and Pastor Tracey Mull officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:15 pm on Tuesday prior to the service at the church.

Mr. White was born August 14, 1943 in Lincoln County to the late Buford and Mary Hubbard White.  He was a devoted husband and father and a member of Reepsville Baptist Church.  Mr. White was retired from textiles.

He is survived  by his wife Barbara Clippard White of the home; four sons, Danny White of Vale, Larry White of Lincolnton, Pastor Tracey Mull and wife Susie of Hickory, Johnny Mull and wife Cynthia of Lincolnton; four daughters, Kathy White of Lincolnton, Debbie Sherrill and husband James of Maiden, Rena Black and husband Rick of Lincolnton, Teresa Hill and husband Mike of Lincolnton; one brother, C.M. White and wife Pat of Lincolnton; three sisters,  Shirley Dellinger of Lincolnton, Hazel Gibson and husband Mike of Gastonia, Marlene Clippard and husband Donnie of Lincolnton; twelve grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
